SchoolPayPA is a public data transparency project focused on compensation, staffing, and financial data from Pennsylvania’s public schools. Our goal is to make this information more accessible, comparable, and useful to educators, taxpayers, journalists, and policymakers across the state.

All data comes from public sources, including:
- The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE)
- School websites and board meeting documents
- Right-to-Know Law (RTK) requests submitted directly to schools
SchoolPayPA does not host or publish private employee data.
Data is added and updated regularly, depending on availability:
- PDE releases: Annually (typically in fall/winter)
- RTK data: Ongoing as records are obtained
- Contracts: Uploaded as available or submitted
Yes, and we welcome that! If you’re a school official, HR staffer, or union rep and you’d like to:
- Update salary or staffing records
- Submit new contracts or documents
- Correct something you see on the site
No. SchoolPayPA is an independent, non-commercial project created and maintained by a public school finance professional. It is not affiliated with PDE, any school, union, or political group.
The platform is 100% self-funded and operates without ads or sponsors. Core costs include hosting, data tools, storage, and RTK fees.
